Question of the Week: How will you celebrate July 4th?

With Independence Day coming up tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to hear how everyone plans to celebrate. (Or you can share after the fact, if you don't have any plans now, but end up doing something interesting later.)

Our plans are kind of low-key, I guess, but we are looking forward to the day. We probably will take the kiddos to a parade in the morning, then head to my parents' house for a cookout, along with them and my brother's family. We haven't decided whether we will go to any fireworks tomorrow night or not.

We attended a cook-out at a friend's home on Saturday, which was a lot of fun. Sort of a pre-July 4th celebration. We had a nice time of fellowship and a lot of good food! They set off some fireworks afterwards and Sam seemed to really think that was cool. He also enjoyed holding some sparklers for the first time. Wish I had gotten a picture! But we have some sparklers somewhere, so I should still have a chance to take a picture of him with one, maybe tomorrow.

I look forward to hearing how the rest of you will celebrate America's birthday! :)

We had our kids and their families over for a lunchtime cookout and lots of outdoor fun for the little ones.

We also managed to go for an early-morning walk and an evening walk. We finished up the day with sitting on our porch watching our neighbors' fireworks. It was a low-key day, but a good one!

Thanks for sharing, Mrs. T! We all had fun at the cookout, too. :)

Your morning and evening walks sound nice. It was a good day!
