A special kiss in front of a lovely background of mountains
This is my absolute favorite photo from the whole day--I know I've shared it here before (on our anniversary), but just couldn't resist posting it again. This was one of those pictures that wasn't even posed, but was caught at just the right moment, and I love it!! Sometime I want to have it enlarged to poster-size, framed beautifully, and hung above our bed.

I LOVE your dress! It's so beautiful and modest!
The wedding pictures are really pretty too. (o:
Oh what lovely photos! And your dress is beautiful! I have to agree that that photo of you standing in the field with DH behind you is amazing. Definitely get it enlarged and display with pride!
Beautiful, Carrie! (Your pictures turned out better than mine, and we DID hire a photographer!:op ) I, too love the one with the two of you in the field!!! You HAVE to hang that one up!
Carrie, this is TOTALLY off-topic but I was reading a few of your old posts and you talked a couple of times about getting one of the new memory foam beds...do you mean a tempurpedic type bed? I'm curious as to how you like it. We are looking for a new bed and I would LOVE to get one because of my back problems but they're quite expensive. Do you think they're good enough to spend the extra money on? --Thanks
Loved the pictures! I was looking back at some of your old blogs the other day and had just read your how we met one.

Thanks for all the comments! :) I had fun looking back through my photos and deciding which to post here. About the dress--God really blessed us in that area! I had found a really similar one that I loved in a bridal magazine, and actually even tried it on at one of the bridal stores, but it was something like $800-$900, which was more than we wanted to spend. Then I found this one at another bridal store--a different brand, but the look was just what I wanted--and the price was somewhere between $300-$400, after all the alterations had been done. It's actually 2 pieces--the sleeveless dress underneath and then a lace top that buttoned up the back. Very simple and beautiful, and I loved it!
Mrs. B--I THINK that memory foam is the same as a tempurpedic mattress, but I honestly don't know for sure. We got ours at Sam's Club--the brand was Tempsoma, and it cost a little over $500 (for a queen size). I personally love it and feel it was well worth the money, as it has greatly improved my sciatic problems. I was leery of getting one, because we had slept on a really expensive memory foam mattress at someone else's house and I hadn't liked it. However, this one has a little more "give" to it than that one did, yet is still very firm and supportive. Plus, it's not as expensive as a lot of them can be. Ours is just the mattress, and we just kept our old boxspring to put it on, which has worked out fine. The memory foam is just the top 3 inches, and the other 9 inches are made of another kind of foam. It came with a very nice washable cover on it, as well. For what it's worth, I do know some other people who have back problems and got the memory foam mattress and it has helped them, so it may be worthwhile for you, as well. Anyway, I definitely recommend them! :)
Zan, yes it was here in NH--central NH to be exact, without being "exact"--LOL! :) We actually got married in my home church, but the outdoor pics were taken on the property that went with the house we were going to be living in! We had discovered that if you walked up the hill in back of the house, and then down the other side of the hill into the field, that you could get a lovely mountain view from that angle without having the house in the picture. It worked out great! So many people later said that our pictures reminded them of scenery from the Sound of Music.
Your dress sounds beautiful, too, by the way! What time of year did you get married? I would have loved a fall wedding when the leaves would be gorgeous--but it wouldn't have worked out for my sister and some of our other attendants who would have been back at college by that time.
Beautiful photos Carrie! You were a gorgeous bride - love the outside photos. Wish I could post some of our wedding photos but alas we have no scanner and our wedding was back in the days before we owned a digital camera. Hard to imagine life without our digital now!
We had an outside wedding and had some lovely photos taken. it stormed at 7 a.m. the day of our wedding and my service-minded-church family were out there wiping off seats right up to the wedding at 11!
Thanks for sharing, you brought back lots of memories of our special day.
Alicia
Thanks for explaining that to me, Carrie, I appreciate it! (o:
Thanks Alicia--I would love to see pics of your wedding someday too, if you ever get a way to scan them! I had to use my mom's scanner as we don't have one, either. :) I would have loved to have an outdoor wedding--if I could do it over, I think I would probably do that--but at the time I was too nervous about the possibility of fickle weather!
Mrs. B--you're welcome! :)
