Another Rainy Day

It's been raining hard (again!) since last night, and our brook is running high. I must say I'm a little tired of rain. It's become a bit depressing, having had so much of it lately. I've also been feeling blue because I can't seem to shake this cold . . . which is frustrating me no end. I don't have the energy that I need to keep up with the housework; I try to take naps when Sam does, so that eats up some of my free time when I normally do housework, and I'm feeling behind in everything! I'm so thankful that at least I now have a dishwasher, so most of the dishes stay done, but there are still a bunch piled up that need to be handwashed.

But I don't need to spend this whole post in complaints. :) Not when we are blessed in so many ways, every day! I'm so thankful that I have a warm house, a loving husband, a precious little boy, a vehicle that runs well, hot water, a stash of plenty of different kinds of tea, and so much more. Those are just a few of the blessings I'm thankful for today.

Jim is at our friends' garage, working on his truck today, so I haven't seen much of him. Hopefully he won't be gone the whole day. I miss him when he's gone every day, but especially Saturdays. The weekends are the only times we get to spend much time together, so it's hard when Saturdays are taken up with other things, too. I know that getting his truck just how he wants it, and also getting his plow truck working for winter are important to him, though. Sam and I ventured out earlier to the library, but that's all we've done today. It's not really a nice day to be out and about. I wouldn't be surprised if we had more flooding in the state as we did last weekend, if this keeps up. The rivers and brooks are already really high again. Thankfully, none of the bad flooding was in our area, but further south they did have a bit of damage from it and even a few deaths.

Sam had a rough, wakeful night last night, which didn't put any of us in a great mood this morning. He has been doing so awesome with his sleep lately, which I guess we have been getting spoiled by, but I don't know what the problem was last night. At least nights like that are few and far between now.

Well, I guess I will sign off for now, even though this isn't a very interesting post. :) I think I'll go take a nap. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

We have had 9 straight days of rain. Today is the first day of sunshine, yah!

The flooding missed us (we are down in the Monadnock area). However, The Contookit river, behind our home, did flood in our back yard. I just can't believe the flooding that happened in the neighboring towns. My parents almost lost their cabin by the lake but it was saved.

I feel your pain, concerning the messy weather. That alone, will suck the energy from you. I hope you feel better. I just got over a cold.

Yes, it sure was nice to see the sun today!!! It really lifted my spirits. And, I'm feeling better--yay! :) I had enough energy to clean my whole bathroom and do some laundry.

I'm familiar with the Monadnock area, as I went to school down there, at Dublin Christian Academy (different from the Dublin School). I was a boarding student there for all 4 years of highschool and loved it! And we had to climb Mt. Monadnock every year . . . so I've done that enough for my lifetime. :) I did hear the flooding was pretty bad in Keene and surrounding areas. Glad to hear you didn't get it any worse than you did!!

Hope you're having a great week so far! :)

That is too funny that you went to Dublin Christian Academy. I went there one winter (the church part) while I was trying to find a church). I actually agreed to meet my husband there ( a good neutral place to meet.)

I was friends with a girl named Laurie Dimlich. I think she went to your college, as well.

How did you like the school? I would love to read a post on your boarding school experience. Especially since that is one of the recent subjects on Crystal's blog.

Zan, you know LORI??? That is too cool!!! She's one of my good friends!!! What a small world. I'll have to email her and tell her to come check out my blog and say hi to you. :) It was only because of her help that I survived Algebra 2 class at DCA! :)

What winter did you go to church there? I'm assuming it would be after I was there--I graduated in 1995. That is too cool that you're familiar with DCA and the church, and Lori!!! What a small world!

I will definitely try to make a post about my boarding school experience soon. I personally loved it; I know it would not be right for everyone, but it was a great experience for me. But even though I was a boarder, I still got to come home almost every weekend and was in very close contact with my parents, so it's not like they just "dumped" me in boarding school so they could do their own thing. They were very involved in the whole process of my education.

Well, I'll get going for now, but I just had to respond to your comment. :) Hope you're having a great week!!

Here is my personal e-mail adress. I use my nickname on the blogs so she probably won't know me zaniam2003@yahoo.com. Is she still in Germany? I actually have a book that is her's that I need to send her. Once I met my husband we lost touch and then she went to live in Germany. She is the sweetest girl in the world. I went there (the church)3 yrs ago during the winter. Lori taught some class there. It is a hard place to fit in. Once I met my husband we decided to go back to the Presbyterian Church I was a member of and do our dating or courting and marital counceling under my pastor. Why I left the Pres. church for awhile is a very long story. After we were married we stayed in the Presbyterian Church until after my son was born. My husband is a Baptist and wanted to go to a more Baptistic type church. We now go to a semi-Reformed Baptist church over the line in Massachusetts.

When my son is older I may consider sending him to Dublin. It is only 15 min from my house. I do want him to get a good highschool education and be in a very moral envirnment. I think the Dublin school is very BJU and I don't agree with alot of BJU stuff but I think they really know how to educate and I like their moral environment. I think if a kid is in school the school should be strict. Anyway, feel free to e-mail me yourself, if you want to discuss the school or anything. And, if possible, if you have Lori's adress let me know it so I can send that book back.

Wow, it is a small world!
